Alexander Kiess, Project Supervisor
Mr. Kiess' has over thirty-five years of experience with BC Hydro as a project supervisor in their provincial and international facility development divisions. He has supervised the construction of power projects from Chile (S.A.) to Churchill Falls and participated in every stage of project planning and completion. Since leaving BC Hydro, Alex has consulted on a broad range of electrical production facilities from large and small scale hydro, gas, cogeneration, oil, diesel and wood waste plants to both high and low tension power lines and electrical distribution systems. He has been active for over twelve years in small hydropower developments in BC. |
Pentti Sjoman, P Eng, Hydro-tech and Project Feasibility
Pentti is a professional engineer specializing in the evaluation, design and construction of micro and small-scale hydro electric projects. He has over 25 years of experience on hydropower projects ranging in size from 30kW to over 20,000kW. He has an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia. Pentti is passionate and knowledgeable about renewable energy in general and small hydro in particular. His knowledge of renewable energy resources and their potential value throughout the province of BC is unparalleled. |
Robert Herath, P. Eng - Director of Permitting and Tenuring
Robert Herath is an Experienced civil engineer with extensive expertise in project planning, development and management in water supply, hydro power and irrigation. Mr. Herath was Asstistant Regional Water Manager, Section Head, Ministry of Environment/Land and Water British Columbia where he managed, supervised and directed water allocation functions under the Water Act of BC. Related duties included issuance of Water Licenses for hydro power. As head of land allocation (2002), he managed supervised and directed land allocation functions under the BC Land Act and related staff of the LWBC. |
Jorgen Jensen, P Eng., Structural / Penstock Design Consultant
Mr. Jensen has over 40 years of engineering experience in pipelines, ferry terminal facilities, and many other types of industrial projects. He was involved with the Brandywine Creek small hydro project, carrying out detailed engineering design for the intake, penstock, and related structures. Mr. Jensen also has worked extensively in the planning and management of large projects, particularly shipping facilities and container terminals. Prior to starting his own consulting company in 1986, Mr. Jensen worked on numerous significant infrastructure projects as a senior design engineer at Sandwell, Inc and its predecessor company, Swan Wooster Engineering Ltd |
