Industry Summary

The Independent Power Production industry in British Columbia has increased significantly since 2003, demonstrated by continued increases in the amounts paid by BC Hydro to IPP hydro developers. Another indication of explosive growth is the number of submissions for water license applications, in 2006 there were approximately 230 applications, and to date for 2007 there have been over 700 new applications.
